Hey!!! All you NEETs, nerds, YouTube link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, Weeaboo from around the world, learners of Japanese who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, cunning linguists, stupid fan girls of Johnny's Boys, Touhou pirates, and that electrical super-gay who suffers from mental disease - This is your thread! Let's hope the Internet-addicted housewife will come back soon!
Did you notice a sign out in front of my house that said "Dead Nigger Storage"? You know WHY you didn't see that sign? 'Cause it ain't there, 'cause storing dead niggers ain't my fucking business, that's why!
Tonight, I am lying on the futon. My around environment is very silently so feeling so good. In the silent world I hear rain sound from out side my room. But my life is not take happy maybe. That is very sad to me. So, I am running in out side without clothes. Ah, I have feeling good. I can anything.
Since gaijins know how Japanese are bad at English very well, they will try their best to understand your introduction though you think you are not with enough skill to guide them. It'll be very helpful for them to be with you.
初春 early spring 令月 beautiful and serene month 気淑 feeling perfectly clear 風和 wind blows gently
Some people argue 令 means "order" so it is not appropriate because of its directive nuance. I totally disagree with this because "order" is the most important element of the peace. We have to establish world peace based on the international norms and order. So even if 令 only means "order", 令和 is still a splendid name of New era. Needless to say, the meaning of 令和 is not directive at all, it means "Serene and moderate". The coolest name of era I know.
>>34 Use Google Assistant. When you ask it "where should I visit around ueno station?", they'll recommend some spots in English. Also, you can ask them to translate like "近くに美味しい店があるを英語で". It translates and reads it aloud.
I mean, I just don't understand the big fuss about the new era name. It's just a name of a certain period in Japanese history. We don't know what are going to happen to our country in the Reiwa period. Maybe it sucks as a hell for Japan, maybe it's a wonderful period, or somewhere in between. Before knowing that, I can't have any emotional attachment to the name in abstract.
By the way, saying "Reiwa is the coolest name" isn't cool.
>>52 I don't think so considering your comments posted in other thread. It is clear you are the middle-aged woman because of your English and the way you talk. It's quite distinctive. And you seem to dislike Japan, right?
>>54 I just want you to tell the truth. You are that middle-aged woman. I cannot understand why you disguise your identity, even though you exhibit all characteristics of that person. Your expression is so limited so you repeat the same phrases again and again. That's why it is extremely easy to spot you.
I watched them because of my girlfriend. She is a real drama freak who watches everything and as a middle aged couple, we enjoy that kind of drama. I've watched a fair share of american/british drama but commedy is not really my thing.
It's been a while for me to be on this board and I am not sure that lady did to you or this thread. I am not that person you are talking about, but your conspiracy mentality is sort of amusing.
It's not conspiracy theory. It's just a valid assumption. You have given too much excuses, which only corroborate my convictions that you are the person. I'm not talking about the contents you wrote but the way you are speaking. You are the only person who exhibits aggressive behavior here.
I am the one who always writes moron, and GOD is the one who writes lame. I told him that neither of us are women, but he doesn't listen. He does have mental problems.
Your english is so unique and distinctive, thus it's easy to spot you. You are always writing nasty and offensive comments as above. The way you offend others has same patterns, which reflects your complex. You'd better think why you always call others moron lol.
>>62 Anyway, it's meaningless to try to pretend to be another person. You are always doing the same thing and debunked due to your limit. You are weak in every sense.
>>61 Hmmm. It's hard to convince someone who doesn't have a functioning brain...
>>63 You seem to believe that the term "complex" has the same meaning as its translation to Japanese. But it doesn't. It's good for you to learn a lot of Japanese katakana words have different meanings than its origins.
Anyway, it's been a while to visit 5ch since I need to have a VPN access to come here because of GDPR. It's weirdly reassuring to know that this thread is still a shithole as it has always been. Thank you for talking to me :)
>>38 I don't care the meaning of Rei as whether order or beauty. I just wanted a positive sound name of the era like Meiji which indicates something happening. Reiwa sounds self comfortable just like Cool Japan.
Out of the 5 or 6 options this time, Reiwa was the best choice. It's something that can't be used as a globalist slogan. I hope the new era's politics will be more orderly and less full of lies and manipulation, although things are looking grim now. All in all it was a good choice. But in terms of いじりability (which is what matters on this site), Reiwa is a bland-sounding one. Which isn't a bad thing.
I read the Bible myself many years ago. Although I don't remember much of it, I remember the "beam in your own eye" thing. It starts with "Thou hypocrite!" and this is my bible quote of choice.
Love is a very good one. Life is supposed to be fun. When you're having fun, you feel great and you receive great things. When you take life too seriously, you receive serious things.
>>100 Some learn it voluntarily and others learn it only because it's a subject or a requirement. I was kind of like this America-hating American guy in this thread. I hated the Japanese online community like 2ch (because of the peculiar nerdy writing style), so I went to English sites instead and learned English while using them.
I often walk Hanamachi when I take lunch. Many young ladies ask me to ride on even while a moment. I 'm a lady-killer. Because the bald man is thought he likes ladies very much.
One thirds of April is over. I've done what I should since February. But you've only been fooling around on 5ch and stalked in vain. I dislike that kind of sly man anyway. I'm ready to take off from the snail.
https://video.mainichi.jp/detail/video/6024163086001 This video makes me feel very sad. He should have been given at least the chance of a press conference. His contribution to Japanese economy as a whole is enormous so he should have the opportunity to explain the situation by his own words.
The new paper money looks ugly as shit. By far the ugliest ones in history. Who chose them? 10000 yen bill shoud be sporting a more 10000-yen-like figure that absolutely everyone in this country knows. I hope cash payment becomes completely obsolete in 5 years before they issue those ugly bills.
>>121 Don't say such a thing. As 2chtic interest, so this, I believe, is the central question upon which all creative conversation hinges: Do you have the courage to bring forth the treasures that are hidden within you ?
At my work place, the ratio of men and women is 8:2(,maybe less women than 2) and most of those men are reluctant to teach English, I was greatly welcomed but there aren't many students taking English. It's good that I'm counted on by them but I only work two days a week. I think it's fine begining leisurely though....
One month ago, March 10 was the 60th anniversary of the Tibetan uprising. I'm still learning about it and now trying to gain a more proper understanding of the issue. From what I've learned, it looks like China's claim is full of typical imperialist propaganda and distortion. I have been strongly reminded that sucking China's cock is a big mistake.
Last Saturday this guy whom I assumed was American talked to me at the station. I think he wasn't sure if he was on the right train so he was asking around the people about it. He said "Does it go to xxx?" For such a short and easy line I still couldn't understand it because I wasn't paying much attention. My mind went completely blank as he finished his line. I was speechless while looking at him mouth open. Then he probably thought I didn't speak English at all so he just kept saying the station's name over and over until the train finally left. He then left there too in a bit annoyed face. I felt sorry for the guy because if I nodded, he had taken the wrong train.
>>135 I sympathize. I'm still terrible at Japanese and interacting with people here makes me want to crawl in a hole and die half the time. I need to quit being so neurotic.
>>208 College degrees are rapidly losing their value in the US due to saturation of the labor market and the constantly rising costs of attending universities. It's common for college students to be hopelessly in debt from student loans and still not have very good jobs. There's now a shortage of skilled labor, such as plumbers or welders. High school graduates can make a good living doing these trades.
Unless you want to go into a field that requires higher education, such as medicine or engineering, it isn't worth it in my opinion.
A lot of college entrance exams are racially biased. Asian applicants are penalized, white students have normal standards, and "other groups" can get in with lower scores. The rationale for this is aiding poor and disadvantaged communities, but it's bullshit nonetheless.
If you were born in affluent families, you will automatically have a place in privileged universities by entering affiliated primary schools. This is kind of inequalities in Japan. You can argue private schools should have their own criteria when selecting students but in Japan those "private" universities are supported by taxpayers money so there should be more rigorous and clear standards.
And there should be more thorough entrance exams. I got a permission to one of famous universities in Kansai region just taking English and Japanese exams... In my opinion, no one should go on to universities without taking examinations in math.
>>223 2ch/5ch is pretty well known around the internet. Few gaijin actually wander in here though because they can't navigate the gigantic list of boards in Japanese.
Umm, some of my friends who went to former imperial universities failed to pass the entrance exam of some minor private universities. Exam systems are so different between national universities and private ones, so this kind of things happen.
>>242 I guess that way of thinking is one of the typical way. And That had nowadays too an influence to the point of view of Japanese people to other people especially in the government authority.
I love sazeriya. Because I can eat lowest price meal in there without using point card or coupon unlike other chain store. Why do I have to check website or APP EVERYTIME to eat low cost meal? I hate this fucking bullshit work.
>>254 He is a troll. Please read this thread, and you would I nderstand that he is just a troll and isn’t an ordinary English learner. Be careful. http://2chb.net/r/english/1555575841/
>>260 At what age do you think that you were visibly getting bald? I'm sorta worried about mine too because my father and grandpa (on my father's side) are both... you know.
Hey guys, sup? I’m a college student and my goal is to get a TOEIC score 900 within 1 year. What should I do? The score I took is 835(L:450 R385)please gimme some advice. Btw, what bringsall u guys here? I mean, what r u looking for staying here and write English? Just curious.
>>266 Are you saying, my English is awful and there will be no improvements without dying?Thats what u meant ? I’m so sad:( I wanna be American next life.
>>269 I said, I wanna get 900 score, not 990It’s just my goal. And my first score was 430, so I think that there’s no need to reborn as native speaker considering my skills to achieve target within due day. And I’m just planing to work by using English as a second profit,so It is desirable for me to get 900 score. In doing so, I can more easily find my job. It’s just it is. There’s no more. English is just tools to get the work, u got it?
>>274 Thx. I’m really grad to hear that.:) Maybe that’s enough for u to understand the meaning of text. If u get what they want to do,or what they want u to do,there’s no problem for your career as a engineer,I guess. Btw, my hobby is watching foreign dramas by subscribing Hulu such as Friends, TWD,and this helps me write English based on drama’s subtitles. Just try it if u want!
>>279 Those kinda words are used by native frequently. That’s not big deal, u can understand it,does it? Moreover, they use 4 as for,or thanks as thx, girl friend as gf. Even Japanese like us are using something like that such as おk,黙れks,ggr like this. In other word, it is slung. Just get used to it.lol
I don't want to habituate to it. My teacher, she is beautiful, told me "never use lol. Don't use it as it is vulgar." you should not use indecent native person language.
>>281 The hell r u talkin’ bout? Is here public place or something? Just ignore what shitty bitch saying. No wonder she says such a word is not good. Teacher’s usually like that, shitty crap hardheaded bastard. What the hell do ya think about this place? Here is 5ch,hangout of nasty, petty, filthy badass.I don’t care in somewhere like here and if u wanna go, just get the hell out of here u jackass, got dat?
>>283 Regarding improving your TOEIC score, maybe it helps to stop reading bad english which you try to mock and start reading better written enligsh which you could find in newspapers or something might help as your reading score is ashamedly low.
>>289 Thx for advice but my hobby is watching dramas and I’m not gonna stop dat. By watching it my listening score was improved so I’ll go on based on it. It’s natural for me that reading score was relatively low than listening scores because of my ways of learning. So there’s no reason to change my way. It’s okay if I can understand the meaning of what actor’s saying. In addition , I like talking to girls in HelloTalk as well. And they are using the word dat like I sent before, so I have no reasons to cut dat shit out,ya feel me?
>>277 Various things were inserted in your ancestors throughout the ages. >>296 I don't get it what u mean. Maybe the level of vocabulary is high for me and it is hard to understand what u r talkin’ bout.I assume you’re really good at writing Eng, that’s cool. However, that would be grateful if you make your sentences short and simply if u don’t mind.
hey you guys why don't you play PTCGO (meaning for Pokemon Trading Card Game Online) in your PC or Phone by downloading app. you can register freely your player account first, then you can play whenever you want because there is no stamina system that's why I recommend you such an entire free great application for your leisure!! battle with me!!
>>311 I usually don’t play games. However, I’m interested in Maplestory M recently. I used to play this game when I was in junior high school, and it makes me really nostalgic. I wanted to try, but, u know ,online game is addictive. I was really into it, and I couldn’t do what I had to do. So I hesitate to play these kinda games. I wanna do it, but I have a lot to do. Is it possible to play online games for just fun without addiction? What am I supposed to do? Should I try it or just have to forget about it? Please , give me you all guys’ opinion.
>>265 It's clear that reading section drugs your overall scores. I think this site is best for intermediate learners. https://www.bbc.com/news/popular/read They don't use difficult English while writing many intriguing articles. I got full marks in Eiken first grade reading section just reading the site.
>>298 yeah I guess it was a bad idea to try something like that here. actually im sure quite a few native speakers would have trouble with reading that. me and my friends have a game where we try to come up with the most long winded stupidly formal insults.
>>329 I guess its a little hard to translate 「色々事はお前の祖先に挿入された。 昔の日から歴史家はお前の先祖の嫌な行為とそれらがどのように体の開口部に関するすべてのタブーを破ったかについて書いた。 人体の失礼についての話はすべてお前の先祖について言及している。」 hope i didnt sound like an idiot trying to translate that lol
>>330 It read like something you copy pasted from a video game or movie. However, "Various things were inserted in your ancestors throughout the ages" has a funny sexual connotation to it.
A lot of the issues I see with the English in this thread is poor word choice. There are a lot of words that have similar meanings in English but have different nuances. Your words choice problems will improve with more listening and reading of native English content.
Play videogames in English, watching movies in English, and read a lot. Fluency will follow.
>>333 one thing ive found very helpful is reading. if you read a book and look up every word or phrase you dont understand until you fully comprehend everything in it your english will quickly improve. once youre comfortable with that kind of thing watching movies and tv shows is helpful, but in contrast to reading its good for learning to ignore the words you dont understand and use conext clues to understand the overall meaning of the english dialogue.
I saw a student speaking English on my way back home today. The girls around him looked so excited. His English wasn't that bad, but it was far from a native level. I just didn't get all the cheers. Is it like girls simply like a boy speaking English beside his level of mastery? If so, why are you guys still not popular among girls?
>>342 There are several possiblities I can think of:
1. The guy is good-looking. Outlook has little correlations with English proficiency but is highly correlated with being popular among girls. 2. You were day-dreaming. The guy doesn't exist. 3. You are a troll. The guy doesn't exist.

>>344 I guess he’s just a troll. There are many trolls who have been trying to control discussions on 5ch and he seems to be one of them. If not, he is just a compulsive liar who has the desire to rape women.
He takes on different personalities and tries to deceive you by making the thread look like it has many users and active discussions, using multiple IDs and phones.
>>344 Once it’s exposed that he’s taking on different personalities by using many IDs and phones, he always starts to abuse people who pointed it out, making it look like multiple people are attacking them.
>>344 I’m pretty sure that he didn’t go to college and didn’t even study for the entrance exams. He has no idea how to study for the exams. He often says that he is really good at reading and writing English because he studied English for the exams, but it’s an obvious lie. A lot of students have to study many subjects to pass the exams. They can’t spend too much time on English writing, so most of them can’t write English well. That’s a thing in people who have experienced the exams, but he doesn’t know it at all. I’m pretty sure that he has a strong complex about not going to college, so he just want to act as if he is a person with a college degree who has awesome English skills. That is the reason why he’s in this English forum all day and is doing a troll.
I guess many comments in this thread are posted by >>344. He is taking on different personalities by using many phones and Wacchoi to make this thread look like it has a lot of users. Be careful. You might be the only person except this troll to post in this thread.
>>349 He posted the comment 13 minutes after I posted >>348. It's the reason I say he is in this forum all day. He is just a troll. He posts comments as a job.
Basically most of comments in this thread are written by him. He is using multiple phones to change Wacchoi and keeps posting here to make this thread look like it has a lot of users who post English comments. It is his job. He is controling discussions in this forum.
I use only this computer for posting in 5ch nothing else. I sometimes read threads with my phone but not for posting as I need to be on a VPN to do that.
And are you insulting me on not having tertiary education? I do have a bachelor's degree from a quite good university in Japan, which I needed to study hard to get in, as well as multiple postgraduate degrees from decent schools in the US (not as prestigious as Ivy schools but still most people in the US would say it is a good school if they hear my alma mater).
I don't know what makes you think like that, but you may want to see a psychiatrist if you are serious about what you've said here.
He is using multiple phones like this and taking on different personalities. Read this thread with the Wacchoi patterns, and you will notice he is a troll.
The comments above are all posted by one guy using multiple phones to take on different personalities. He is always doing such a thing in multiple threads. Never take what he is saying seriously. He lies like he breathes.
Basically most people in this forum don't write English so much. It means only a few people post here. Probably one guy keeps posting. This guy is a troll hired by 5ch, he keeps posting to make this thread look like it is getting active. It's his job. He isn't a ordinary English learner. He is getting money from the trolls.
Obviously he also made this thread. He made it and keeps posting there. You might think this thread has a lot of people, but it isn't true. Only one guy, who has the desire to rape girls, keeps posting using multiple phones and Wacchoi.
I feel sick seeing this troll who has the desire to rape girls keep posting ridiculous things in multiple threads taking on different personalities using a lot of phones.
People who have decent English skills find his English very poor. He doesn't try to talk with foreign people and keep posting here to Japanese people. Well no foreign ones get interested in him though. Who wants to talk with perverts who have the desire to rape girls?
>>387 Haha. Thanks. Your English is not good either. We shouldn't be picky about that as we need to encourage people to post more. "People" here means another persona of mine, according to you ;)
I have enough chances to write in English to a non-Japanese audience as I'm an expat working somewhere outside Japan. I know my English has some room for improvement. But, in any case, English is my primary language in my everyday communication.
>>389 I can't decide who is the best so far (adimittedly I haven't fully caught up yet).
Daenerys is among my favorites but probably not the most favorite. She is a bit too upright and serious to me. I like Jon Snow and Tyrion better than her. I also like Bronn and Tywin.
Tywin is an asshole for sure but somehow I like him.
>>391 As the guy suspected, I tried several VPN locations and without VPN I can't access to 5ch because of an EU regulation called GDPR, which is a big thing last year. 5ch privacy policy is not GDPR compliant and when it was enacted last May, 5ch decided to shutdown access from EU to aviod legal issues. The 5ch's decision is understandable, but inconvenient anyway.
I will use the same server from now on. Sorry about that.
Good morning, everyone! :D I feel so tired and don't wanna go to school. Why do I have to do that? My mom says going to school will help me become smarter. But you know, I'm already smart! ;) I know everything! I don't need school! So I'll just stay in my bed all day. lol
>>399 If you’re smart, why don’t you drop out the school and are living by yourself? By doing so, you need not to go to school, and you can sleep whenever you want. It seems that wouldn’t be easy compared to the comfortable life as a student.
I forgot to say that I'm 14. I can't drop out of school, because compulsory education in Japan is only until 15 years old :( Where can a junior high school student work part-time?
>>402 Just find out how to do what you wanna do. You said, you’re smart, right?then stop nagging for your current situation and come up with the solution how to achieve your goal.Age has nothing to do with earning money.
You can’t find the job, or can’t live by yourself, then you have to listen to your mother’s saying.Without your parents, you can’t do anything, right?
Or, if you continue to insist that you’re wise, find a way out.You don’t wanna go? Fine, then win over them. Stop complaining somewhere like here, you feel me?
And here I thought 4chan had the most autistic users. This thread is a fucking mess. I'm seeing a a lot of the same types of posters here that I see on 4chan, which I think is pretty interesting.

-By the way this article says that "Social Game" is the games that make you pay a lot of money by making you gamble on gacha. Even if you start playing games for free, you might end up paying 100k yen. Even children are using a lot of money on gacha. However you keep saying that Nintendo would never do such a business in financial events. Is it true? Did you never think you wanted to do it?
Iwata: No, I have never thought I wanted to do. I believe it's impossible to continue such a business. The game business is very important for us, and I don't think I want to do other business instead of it.
I have been working in the gaming industry since 1980, it was the time the game culture was born. I was a developer first and then became a manager, but my feelings for users aren't changed. I always feel happy seeing many people enjoying our games. I think I want to continue this business, so I don't want to lose people's trust for us. It's the reason why Nintendo doesn't get in the social game business.

At stackoverflow, I have respectable posting score although I won't reveal my identity here (of course, because it's too scary).
>>441 I don't know how much time you need to write in english. To me, it's not that different than writing in japanese so if you think you can do that, just do that to respect others in this thread.
In my understanding, I haven't used that many discriminative words. I just said that you seem to have mental problems, which I now come to believe is true and thus I am not sure that is counted as an offensive word any more.
>>441 By the way, could you teach me for what purposes anyone would pay money to post this thread? I can't think of any, so I'm just curious about your reasoning.
Why don't you talk with foreign people? You just write English for Japanese people. What are you learning it for? To get a sense of superiority over beginners who have lower skills? If so, your English will remain poor.
As soon as I pointed out that you stopped saying to me "Please write in English" after I wrote several long English sentences, you started saying it again. It's funny. What's wrong with you?
Never take what this troll is saying seriously. Lying is as easy as breathing to him. As I always say, he takes on different personalities by using a lot of phones to deceive you.
>>443 There seems to be two types of shills. External ones that advertise their products and stuff (including politics), and some sort of insider ones that work for this site itself. Or so I heard.
For example, a shill could be padding the number of posts on this board to make it seem thriving, so that more people would be interested in learning English or 5ch itself.

To our Japanese, idioms seem like a confusing secret code reserved only for the native speaker of English. Idioms are certainly tricky things because it is the sum of all the words in the phrase which must be interpreted, not each word by itself. we must never confuse the literal translation of an idiom with the underlying meaning of what is really being expressed or symbolized. In other words, if we solve only this problem English seems to change to pretty easy, nonspecial, pleasurable, amusing, enjoyable thing.

One thing which surprises me is that you actually can write English. Your English in posts like >>447 is mediocre but fully comprehensible. That's quite an accomplishment considering your mental status (ya, I sincerely believe that you are mental).
And respecting the purpose of this thread, you should write in English as I have been insisting. Because you don't do that so far, you are a disgrace to the thread.
>>471 In addition to that, there are so many words beyond the reach of most non-native speakers. There are so many words which have a similar meaning. Vocabulary rich natives can choose the most appropriate one from a group of similar words.
For instance, the word "disgrace" has the following words as synonyms: dishonor, shame, discredit, ignominy, degradation, disrepute, ill repute, infamy, scandal, stigma, opprobrium, obloquy, condemnation, vilification, contempt, disrespect; humiliation, embarrassment, loss of face; dated disesteem
To know most of them and to choose one among them requires abundant knowledge in English. Every time I encounter an unfamiliar word, I know how little I know.
0158 名無しさん必死だな 2018/09/16 02:17:26 I despise anyone who are there just to point out when other make tiny grammar mistakes. So called Grammar Nazis. What makes me laugh is they do so in Japanese, not English. That doesn't make sense at all. If you're so confident in English and call other people shit, you have to prove yourself first. Otherwise, you're just blabbing nonsense.
I hate people who only point out it in Japanese and never try to correct it in English when someone makes a grammatical error. It is called gammer Nazis. It is funny and does not make sense at all. If they want to say that they can use English better, they should prove it first. If they can not do it, they should not say such a thing.

「全員簡単な日常会話はできる」 Could't you realize it? Most of the foreign people in this video can speak Japanese fluently. They can communicate with each other very well in Japanese. I said, "You should use expressions which you already know and learn details by actual experience to use the language". Couldn't you even understand that? I had repeatedly taught you to get proper Japanese reading comprehension.
Besides, there are no such things in English as the counter suffix or Kanji which are mentioned as the main problems to learn foreign languages in this video. It's you who must watch this video carefully. This video makes nothing to do with the point.
You are just ignoring your own incapability to understand. You don't even realize how shameful it is to keep insulting someone who taught you valuable things with pure kindness.
Those two sentences are not only the fundamental structure of English but also that of all human languages. If you could understand that, all the things left for you are to add something to this structure, to change the words or expressions of the parts, or to join multiple sentences to make a nested structure. Unlike Japnese, English doesn't even have any omission of the subject, thus all English grammar is built on this fundamental structure. This is the basis of the logical relation of almost all English sentences.
However, I guess you are the person who cannot understand any kind of words of others. I recommend you to reread the articles from >>101. At least, I know I have better experience to learn foreign languages than you.
>You don't even realize how shameful it is to keep insulting someone who taught you valuable things with pure kindness.

It's sort of fun to ridicule you, but to be honest I'm getting bored of it as you are not so creative even in thinking of new insults. So I am stopping to talking to you.
I am still not sure what you try to accomplish by posting your delusions in this or other thread on this board, but you can just keep doing it if it prevents you from killing people by running over them at a busy crosswalk.
>>37 lt's pretty much the same with "sentences" as well. Yes, you think in "sentences," if not in full sentences all the time. Thought, ideas, and theories are all expressed in English sentences in literature used in English-speaking countries as a matter of fact. When every sentence you read in books and articles is written in English language, you will naturally learn to imitate the very thought process recorded in them as "sentences", and think as well as write in that language.

You can define anything the way you like. It’s completely legit for you to claim that a language should be primarily the means for communication. It’s completely alright for you to think that muddling your writing with unnecessary fluff is a bad idea. I won’t say anything if you believe that writing is all about clarity and that's all there is to it. BUT on no account are you to force your ideals onto others, in this case, me. My idea of what a language should be is quite, if not completely, different from yours. I like playing with words, I like using new words that I’ve learned. I like adding words that doesn’t necessarily have to be there. If you don’t like it, just skip it. It’s not up to you to decide how I should write. I just like the way I write. I'm not sure whether he can say anything about the fluency of our emperor. He doesn't really speak in the video and making any judgement is inappropriate.
This is a fully scripted speech but this'd be much better example. ダウンロード&関連動画>>
From it, I'd say that he seems not so fluent, but it is really easy to listen to him at least to my Japanese ear.
>>659 Altough I didn't find the video particularly offensive, he made several strategic mistakes for the video (such as underestimating patriotism of some japanese people, using inappropriate video to make judgement).
I guess what he wants out from his videos is to advertise his english lessons. It's fine, but treating our emperor perfunctorily to serve that purpose is a big mistake. Probably it's wise to take down the video.

>>710 The problem that "charge for electronic money can not be used abroad" was a city legend limited to Japan
・ Charge originally means "load / load cargo on cart", From there "to put contents in containers etc" meaning Derived from the meaning of "burdening people with burdens and burdens = making a charge,"
・ When using a credit card, using charge does not mean "pay with card" The meaning of "loading on a card (scrubbing and charging later)" and "loading on a card company (charging, charging)". There is no "pay for money" meaning or "balance is deducted" nuance in charge.
・ When charging electronic money, charges are not often used in English-speaking countries overseas. It is often used "top up (top off)" which means "fill the container" and "pour and add drinks and the like" (other examples include load, reload, fill, and refill etc). However, as mentioned above, charge has a basic meaning of "stack and pack" and there is no image that can be reduced by using contents, and it is often introduced as a synonym of top up even in a dictionary etc. Even if I say it carelessly, it does not mean that I can not communicate at all.
As an example that actually connects with charge even overseas Overseas reports from Apple's iPhone 7 compatible with FeliCa in Japan The act of adding Suica's balance is usually called charge without any comment.
-Recently, on the Japanese Internet, there is a claim that "the charge is meaning to pay money, so the wording of charging electronic money can not be communicated abroad at all." This theory is a clear mistake because there is no point in the first place to pay money for charge. Was it written in "Japanese English trivia books published in Japan" written by British and Americans? Bakamon! The foreign writer is Japanese!

By promoting English education that has been turned into a TOEIC course, language education including native languages has been adversely affected, and this has led to a decline in the intellectual level of the Japanese, "he warns. ■ TOEIC high score is a successor to success? I have been involved in language education for many years, but about 30 years ago English language teaching in schools started to cut sharply, saying "from grammatical emphasis to emphasis on conversational ability". Since that time the business world has become a slogan of globalization Based on that, the business people are becoming like "everyone is required to have English speaking ability", and I felt something strange.
Its symbolic existence is the rapid growth of TOEIC. Nowadays, in the education and business world, TOEIC's high score has come to be regarded as a gateway to success.

By the way, you shouldn’t read his English sentences so much. If you often see incorrect English ones, you may learn incorrect English without noticing. In my opinion, you also shouldn’t see the chat threads in this English forum so much because those threads have a lot of incorrect sentences. It’s good to write English in those threads, but you should read sentences that native speakers writes more often. The English sentences that most Japanese people write are influenced by Japanese, so maybe you couldn’t learn natural English.
For example: I like how the troll is getting mad at my comments.
Most Japanese people might not write such an English, but natives often say it in this way. Note the way in which the “how” is used. Can you translate it into Japanese well?
One more thing: “What’s it about the guy who keeps taking on different personalities by using multiple IDs and phones in this English forum ?”
Maybe you couldn’t learn such a natural English as long as you are talking with Japanese people.
What's the purpose of this guy keeping writing in Japanese. Everyone immediately adds its username to NG lists so virtually no one sees its comments. It's quite meaningless.
第1段落 There are so many people who say that a university degree in the humanities has lost its relevance in today's society, but I disagree with this idea. There are three reasons to support my idea.
第2段落 The first reason is that academic fields of humanities are the basis of our ways of thinking, even if we have already graduated from universities. For example, studying philosophy often improves our skills of critical thinking, and comparing our culture with different cultures can make our views wide. These facts must be the evidence that academic fields of humanities are useful for us, even in today's society.
第3段落 The second reason is that academic fields of humanities are also the basis of other sciences. For instance, history is the important aspect of examining economics, political science, and so on. In addition, humanities often affect the way of comprehending sciences, such as physics and mathematics. We can say that there are no sciences which are not related to humanities.
第4段落 The third reason is that, by studying humanities, we can become cultural people(←cultured peopleのミス). We can easily be hired from corporations if we are cultural people. That's because corporations want to hire those people, and cultural people often give their corporations the new way of thinking. This will contribute to their company's success.
第5段落 For these reasons, I believe that studying humanities must be important even in today's world.

My feet smell. It's probably because my socks smell. My socks smell because my shoes smell. Why do my shoes smell? That is the mystery.
In order to solve the mystery, I applied some shoe deordorizing spray to my shoes. The spray contained silver ion. It worked like a magic. . . for a few days. Now my feet smell like something chemical, very strong and persistent. Even a shower couldn't wash the scent away. But the funny thing is, I've grown fond of the smell, and I can't keep sniffing to make sure that the dangerous odor is still there.

Has Google translation improved so much to the extent that it becomes difficult to discern whether it is written by a human or Google translation?
Okay, I will try it by myself.
I have to buy a new air conditioner before summer arrives because old one had broken. It is highly likely that this summer will also become extremely hot as it was last year.
This was a good opportunity to know the level of the translator. We can use it to make our sentences more natural. It is a good partner for learning English. Thank you for the guy for telling me the usefulness of the translator.
I guess he’s just a troll.
Never take what he’s saying seriously . His English skills are very poor and what he’s saying doesn’t make sense at all.
He is in this English forum all day and immediately replies when he is criticized. He easily gets irritated and he can’t help but post his ridiculous opinions in the thread. What’s wrong with him?
His way of speaking is unique, so even if he varied his speaking tone, I could notice it easily.
Once it’s exposed that he’s taking on different personalities by using many IDs and phones, he always starts to abuse people who pointed it out, making it look like multiple people are attacking them.
I have read a book called “Ito Kazuo No Eigo Gakushuhou” by Kazuo Ito. In the book, he said that many native speakers pointed out that the sentences he wrote were unnatural so he often felt depressed, but he was also confused because each native speaker was saying different things about his sentences. And finally he shrugged off native speakers’ opinions about his sentences and started to say that there were various English in the world, native speakers who don’t have no education wouldn’t understand my English, or there weren’t many native speakers who could correctly read English from Japan’s college entrance exams.
Those remarks made me feel his writing skills may be poor. I don’t want to criticize him, but if you can’t admit how bad your English is compared to native speakers’, you will continue writing unnatural English. Actually what native speakers are saying is correct in many cases. If multiple native speakers point out that your sentences are unnatural, your sentences are incorrect in most cases. If you can’t accept it, you English will remain poor.
>>784 This secret agent fabricate himself, and had lied to have written English sentence he wrote with Google translator as his having written in the first class of English proficiency test. How can we let him go as he is? I thought it my duty to let as much people as I can notice even a malicious intelligence operative writes here, then so I am doing. Originally, writings in this thread are only written by an individual himself. So, there are no problem for it. Please tale care of him who do a deed of match pomp. He does so everywhere disguising him as other people.
"Trolling – is the deliberate act of making random unsolicited comments with the intent to provoke an emotional knee jerk reaction from readers to engage in a fight or argument."
This thread tends to attract "unique" people. Once there was a person always attacking foreigners coming here and now this guy. Even though we have NG filters it is really annoying. I considered reporting it to administrators but the procedure seems cumbersome...
>>919 Aren't you the one who called me a middle-aged housewife? At first I thought this deranged troll was you, because he and you are very retarded and deranged in a very similar way. You acted almost exactly like him but somehow you are not one of the "unique people"?
I think calling someone a retard is bad, so I have refrained from using the word for some time. But these morons are so unbelievably stupid and ill that the word just popped out like that.
Using context clues means trying to understand a new word by looking at what’s around it. If you’re stuck on a word you don’t know, try looking at the whole sentence for a hint about what it means. In the cat sentence above, for example, you might not know what “cerulean” means. But you can at least figure out that whatever it is, it’s describing the cat. That might be all you need to know! Don’t stop to look up every new word. It’s harder to focus on your reading if you keep interrupting it. You can write down the word and look it up later. Only look up a word if you can’t understand what you’re reading without it.
>>925 I'm Japanese. When I listen Japanese word I don't know. I google it. I did assuming when I was a child. Adults use difficult words you can't just imagine.
Why you obsess the different way with learning way of Japanese language?
>>938 you are using "sage" so I assume you know it but when you use "sage" in your mail address the thread will not bumped up on the list of threads in the board. being top on the list indicates that the thread is active and will be more salient to other participants of the board. in 5ch culture, that's not always welcomed.
in my understanding a thread will not be eliminated even if it's at the bottom of the list as long as it's getting new posts with "sage", so there is almost no reason to use "age".
I think it's just some relic from the old days of 2ch when there were tons of people and casual trolls (or just fools). I remember people saying "Don't age, boke!" but I haven't seen that reaction for years. No one seems to care about it nowadays.
>>961 Why do you think so? I think he was just a mentally ill poster who tried to expose the shill and failed miserably. Also, what do you mean by "he stopped access from US"?
No one ask but I love K-POP! But I'm not that young anymore so I hide it from my friends and coworkers. Having little secrets is fun, not that adults liking idol songs is wrong or anything tho.
Jack Bauer is German American but Kiefer Sutherland that plays Jack is English Canadian American, however, He appears have an American soul cuz He love American country music that is what such as about 50 or 60 years American guys love
